CENTRE FOR AGING + BRAIN HEALTH
INNOVATION
Baycrest is home to the Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation
(CABHI), which was established in 2015 leveraging $124 million
contributed by public and private sector partners.
It was a historic investment in aging and brain health innovation,
recognizing CABHI as a global leader in the longevity sector.
As Canada's premier solution accelerator targeting innovations in
the aging and brain health sector, CABHI has established itself as
a global leader within the innovation ecosystem. It has invested
in a wide variety of products and services, built an innovation
infrastructure, and established an industry presence through
partnerships, thought leadership, and supporting the development
of a culture of innovation.
CABHI brings together partners from a vast array of sectors:
public and private, healthcare and industry, as well as regulators
and innovators. CABHI has been able to address significant
challenges presented to the aging and brain health sector, and
turn these challenges into opportunities for innovators from
around the world.
Working with partners, CABHI is inspiring a shift in the culture
of the aging and brain health sector in the province of Ontario,
throughout Canada and beyond. The sector is embracing the
challenges of an aging population, seeing these as opportunities to
innovate, adopt new solutions, and create new job opportunities.
The CABHI Seniors' Advisory Panel provides feedback to CABHI
management, as well as input and mentorship to innovators to
ensure that their projects are truly solving real-world problems.
