All volunteers at Baycrest are required to obtain TB screening (done by a skin test) completed by a doctor or at a walk-in clinic. Occupational Health and Safety at Baycrest also offers TB screening. TB screening may include a two- step TB skin test and/or ches t X-ray. Your doctor (or Occupational Health nurse) will sign off the form for your volunteering record. Influenza vaccination Influenza vaccination of healthcare workers, including volunteers, is key to protecting vulnerable clients from the potentially disastrous effects of influenza. For this reason, all volunteers must get a seasonal influenza vaccine from their family doctor or at the on-site Rexall pharmacy. If you get your flu vaccine from your family doctor, please provide documented proof to Volunteer Services. Failure to become vaccinated during the annual influenza season will result in your being restricted from performing your volunteer duties during flu season (December 1 to April 1).
