VOLUNTEER SERVICES
Volunteers are an integral part of the organization and
are involved in virtually every area across our campus.
Assignments are diverse and reflect the various skills and
talents of our volunteers and Baycrest's needs.
Approximately 2,000 volunteers aged 13 to 95 give their time
and expertise to Baycrest every year. Younger volunteers
– age 12 and under – must be accompanied by a parent or
guardian.
Volunteers attend a one-and-a-half hour orientation and
complete online learning modules at home.
Some volunteers spend time socializing with clients while
they await their appointments; others provide eating
assistance, participate in art, music, research and recreational
activities with patients and residents. Some even participate
in simulation projects that train healthcare workers.
