Building on RRI's research and innovation, Baycrest established the Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation, a solution accelerator focused on driving innovation in the aging and brain health sector. The historic $123.5 million investment was the largest ever commitment in aging and brain health innovation by the federal and provincial governments, with assistance from the Baycrest Foundation and 40 organizational partners. Dr. Jean Chen, a neuroimaging expert, was named a Canada Research Chair in Neuroimaging of Aging. Dr. Jed Meltzer, an MEG and language expert, was named a Canada Research Chair in Interventional Cognitive Neuroscience. The scientific headquarters of the Canadian Consortium on Neuro- degeneration in Aging, moved to Baycrest. With this addition, Baycrest became home to the largest network of dementia research being done across the country.
