# N O B L A N K B R A I N S 71 Tyler Hyde is an artist and educator who was born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. In 2012, he received his BFA from NSCAD University in Halifax. He studied art education at Concordia University in Montreal before settling in Toronto, where he currently lives and works. Tyler's work welcomes viewers into a world of queer and campy imagination. Outside of his visual arts practice, Tyler is a co-host and co-creator on a weekly-run podcast called That's Spooky, which can best be described as a walk through a haunted forest with your gay best friends! MENTAL VACATION By Tyler Hyde Artist Statement Get ready for some sass on the beach! With its pops of colour and patterned textures, this mental "Gaycation" is a place where you can always see the sun, day or night. As an artist, Tyler likes to create artwork that is fun and visibly queer. He finds a lot of inspiration through artists like Keith Haring, who are able to show reverence towards social issues while maintaining a sense of play. This artwork was made with acrylic paint, gouache and resin.
