26 T H E B R A I N P R O J E C T 2 0 1 9 As the host of Entertainment Tonight Canada, Cheryl Hickey greets over half a million loyal viewers each night as she delivers breaking news coverage, in-depth profiles and behind-the-scenes exclusives. Originally from Shallow Lake, Ontario, she graduated from London's Fanshawe College with a Broadcast Journalism degree, working in a variety of radio and television roles before joining ET Canada for its launch in 2005. Cheryl also finds time to give back. She works closely with Sick Kids and Plan Canada, and is the spokesperson for KidsWifi™. She is the Gold recipient of the Toronto Sun 2018 Readers' Choice Award for Best TV Reporter and received Fanshawe College's 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award in Creative Arts and Design. THE HICKEY FAMILY By Cheryl Hickey I decided to join the 2019 Yogen Früz Brain Project because I have a dad who has a rare brain disorder. Getting involved with the Baycrest team makes me feel like I can do something to help him. I can take some of the eyes that are on me because of my job and direct them to this incredible cause, because it affects all of us. We need to be talking now about ways to keep our brains healthy.
