Artists are given the challenge of designing and creating brain sculptures
that illustrate
why they support the cause. This unique artwork then
prompts a
conversation about brain health.
Each summer, Torontonians and tourists have the opportunity to encounter
these sculptures at various locations throughout the city including Nathan
Phillips Square, The Distillery District, Brookfield Place, Union Station and
other popular landmarks.
To participate, artists submit an application and are selected by a curatorial
team. Since its inception in 2016, over 260 artists have participated in The
Yogen Früz Brain Project, seen annually by more than 20 million people.
"The Yogen Früz Brain Project challenges Canadians of all ages to learn
what they can do now to delay the onset of dementia as they age," said
Josh Cooper, President and CEO of the Baycrest Foundation. "Meanwhile,
the funds raised through this initiative will allow us to change the future
of brain health."
