INPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH
The Inpatient Psychiatry Program provides comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and
management of mental health issues.
The interdisciplinary team works directly with clients and families to set treatment
goals. Symptom control, counselling and therapeutic groups are key elements of the
program. In addition, supportive counselling for families is provided.
A referral from a physician or nurse practitioner is required. Referral forms are
available in the Clinical Services section at baycrest.org. Completed forms must
be faxed to the Centralized Intake and Referral Office at 416-506-0439.
BEHAVIOURAL NEUROLOGY
The Behavioural Neurology unit is an inpatient program unit that is focused on
assessment, diagnosis and treatment of adults with neurological diseases, specifically
dementia, and associated behavioural symptoms..
A referral from a physician or nurse practitioner is required. Referral forms are
available in the Clinical Services section at baycrest.org. Completed forms must
be faxed to the Centralized Intake and Referral Office at 416-506-0439.
TRANSITIONAL CARE UNIT
The Transitional Care Unit (TCU) at Baycrest Hospital serves as a bridge for Baycrest
inpatients who no longer require the service of the hospital and are awaiting transfer
to a Long-Term Care Home, Retirement Home or another community setting.
