FIBEROPTIC ENDOSCOPIC EVALUATION OF SWALLOWING (FEES)
FEES is a safe and effective instrumental assessment used in the evaluation of
people with swallowing problems. A certified speech-language pathologist (SLP),
in consultation with an ear, nose and throat doctor, uses a small tube with a
camera to see inside a person's throat when they swallow. The results allow the
SLP to plan treatment and discuss foods and drinks which may be safer for the
patient.
For more information, call 416-785-2500, ext. 2636. A physician referral is
required. FEES is not covered by OHIP. A fee for service applies.
