DAY CENTRE FOR SENIORS
Adult day programs are part of a long and enduring
tradition at Baycrest. Our first adult day centre opened in
1959 and was the first of its kind in Canada.
The Freeman Family Day Centre
The Freeman Family Day Centre caters to older adults
who choose to live at home, and who can benefit from
stimulating activities and opportunities to engage with
others on a regular basis. The Centre provides door-to-
door transportation, a kosher lunch, as well as music and
programs that spark creativity and discussion. Counselling,
assistance and education are offered for members and
their families.
When I found out I had Parkinson's, I stopped
driving, and I was confined to my house. At the
Day Centre, I have found companionship and
friendship. I get a chance to do things I cannot
do at home.
