27 # N O B L A N K B R A I N S Gina Godfrey is a prolific abstract and portrait artist, a printmaker and curator, curating her many shows in Gina Godfrey Gallery on Toronto's Bloor Street East. This is her fifth year participating in the Yogen Früz Brain Project. Butterfly Meditation Gina Godfrey Artist Statement There is a sense of peace and serenity in this sculpture. Take a deep breath and breathe the peace. Take another deep breath and breathe in the serenity and tranquility. With this sense of peacefulness, step forward to a path through tall trees. Along the path, a gentle gust of wind blows and suddenly you are surrounded by a proliferation of butterflies rising up from the flowers. You laugh in delight as the butterflies magically dance through your aura, they flit and flutter, weaving in and out of your energy leaving you tingly, invigorated and enchanted. As you move forward, all but one of the butterflies settle back on the flowers. Your singular butterfly leads you along the path and flutters off in the direction of a small hill in the distance. Then it re-emerges to guide you on your journey back, knowing you can come back and experience this peace at a future time. It flutters gracefully into the light and encourages you to join it.
