Dana Korre is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary
artist who completed her BFA at OCAD University
in 2015. Dana's work primarily focuses on imitating
patterns and textures derived from nature while
questioning their relationship with the industrial
world. Her sculptural pieces serve as visual,
three-dimensional studies of various organic
materials and her paintings concentrate on
detailed observations of elements found within the natural environment.

Artist Statement
This wood and mineral formation depicts a visual contrast of durability
between materials: one represents deterioration and the other preservation.
The brain holds precious memories and information that need to be
treasured, but the effects of aging can cause them to wither away. In order
to prevent this, we must focus on brain health and support research to
protect ourselves and our loved ones.
