The Geriatric Psychiatry Community Service sees about
700 people a year. A team of psychiatrists, nurses, social
workers and occupational therapists provides in-home and
outpatient care to older adults who have problems such as
depression and memory loss. "Our role is not just to keep
people living in the community longer, but also to improve
their quality of life," notes Dr. David Myran, medical director
of the service.
