BrainMatters • Fall/Winter 2021 • 21 MOLLINE GREEN, 75 Foundation Board Member and participant in Baycrest SEALFIT in 2019. SEALFIT is regarded as the hardest civilian training in the world. Braving physical challenge at any age! Why does she participate? "I looked upon my SEALFIT goal as another personal challenge. I tried to manage my expectations of what I could achieve [at SEALFIT], not having done anything that extreme before; but given my positive attitude and physical fitness level, I was optimistic I could complete the six-hour portion." (Editor's note: She did!) "Not sure if my SEALFIT days are over, but for now I am taking great pleasure in knowing I was able to complete the SEALFIT 2019 challenge at the ripe old age of 73." What does supporting Baycrest mean to Molline? "Baycrest has been an important presence in my life dating back 30 years, when my mother first introduced me to the Meals on Wheels program that runs out of Baycrest. She volunteered to deliver these precious meals to our community. My parents supported Baycrest as donors and my father benefited from Baycrest's care when he convalesced after his hip surgery at the age of 99." "I have been a Foundation Board Member and active participant in many Baycrest initiatives through the years, including co-chairing one of our annual campaigns and riding in many Barrie 2 Baycrest rides, in addition to SEALFIT. Of all the organizations I support, Baycrest is the most near and dear to my heart. I plan to continue to be an active member of the Baycrest community in whatever capacity I can, for as long as I am able."
