19 ex The Emergence and Revival of Charismatic Political Movements Literacy/History Dr. Caitlin Andrews-Lee The Material World Literacy/History Sharon Allen Join us as we investigate the nature and trajectory of charismatic movements from the perspectives of both leaders and followers. Focusing on Argentine Peronism and Venezuelan Chavismo, we review how charismatic movements can emerge, survive, and become politically revived by sustaining their personalistic character. We will also examine how charismatic attachments to the movement's founder can develop into long-lasting, deeply emotional political identity, which can have harmful effects on democracy. Royal Ontario Museum volunteers will share information about objects and ancestral belongings from the Museum's collection that explain how humans have used different materials to create their clothing throughout time. Starting with the philosophical idea around "health," from Plato, and then comparing this to contemporary ideas, we will explore many theories. We will also ask what is spirituality, and its relationship, if any, to religion? Discussions will also include philosophy and spirituality as factors in health care and practical ways in which this can be achieved.
