Introduction to Embroidery: Coaster Making Class Needlecraft/Class Series Iris Weverman 6 week progarm, fixed Lounge Jan. 15 to Feb. 26 (excluding Family Day) Mondays, 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. This class is perfect for all new and aspiring embroiderers. You will learn all about stitches, hoops, floss, and fabric, so that you can design a beautiful handmade coaster. Introduction to Needle Felting: Two-Dimensional Design Basics Needlecraft/Class Series Kat Singer One-time workshop Creative Arts Studio Mar. 15 Friday, 1 - 4 p.m. In this workshop, participants will learn the basic principles of needle felting with wool, and will create a colourful and tactile two-dimensional composition. The Art of the Photographic Portrait Photography & Calligraphy/Photography Cindy Blaževic 6 week program, fixed Activity Room B Mar. 12 to Apr. 16 Tuesdays, 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. Explore the process of creating a photographic portrait. We will discuss identity, race, gender, culture, and agency when using photography to define ourselves, visually. Learn portrait styles and techniques, both historical and contemporary. We will work towards creating our own portraits by the end of the course. No prior experience necessary.
