28 Had Enough of Aches and Pains? Functional Movement/Balance, Gait, and Mobility Esther Cieri Do you find your daily activities like walking, shopping and cleaning cause you pain or discomfort? This class helps you move your body with more ease and confidence. You will learn to improve balance, strength, and flexibility. You will also learn how to prevent falls and rehabilitate injuries, as well as manage pain, tension, and stress. Dates Day Time Sessions/Type Jul 17 to Wed 11 a.m. - 6 weeks, flex Aug 21 12 p.m. Fitness Fundamentals Functional Movement/Strength & Conditioning Colin Blayney Join us for a muscular conditioning class that will leave you standing taller and feeling lighter. Together, we will work on core activation, posture, and balance, as well as learn important techniques to improve lifting and carrying for activities of daily living. Exercises are safe even if you have osteoporosis or osteopenia. Dates Day Time Sessions/Type May 1 to Wed 2 - 3 p.m. 15 weeks, flex Aug 14 (excl. Jun 12) Exercise & Falls Prevention Functional Movement/Balance, Gait, and Mobility Laura Niman Join for low impact exercises with high impact results! Working various muscle groups from head to toe, our focus is to build upon our core muscles to help improve our balance and provide overall confidence and stability on our feet. All fitness levels are welcome to join in the class as many modifications can be made. Dates Day Time Sessions/Type May 2 to Thurs 1:45 - 14 weeks, flex Aug 8 2:30 p.m. (excl. Jun 13) Stretch & Mobility Group Fitness/Balance, Flexibility and Mobility Denise Acton In this class, participants will be lying, sitting and kneeling on the floor/mat. We will be going through a series of stretches and movements that focus on lengthening the muscles and practicing strength exercises to help increase mobility.
