Education defies dementia
Awareness programs
protect against decline
Being informed about dementia is key to managing
it. Our efforts help patients and caregivers
understand the demands of dementia and find the
support they need.
Health Information Portal is full of clear information,
all curated by our experts, about brain health,
memory, general health and wellbeing, mental
health issues, as well as links to other useful sites.
It's a wonderful and easy-to-access reference portal.
The Centre for Health Information (formerly the
Wellness Library) is an exceptional space on our
campus for residents, patients, staff, and caregivers
alike. Computers, personalized searches, and a
library of brochures and books help everyone stay
informed about their health.
Defy Dementia is a public health awareness tool
and podcast hosted by chief scientist, Dr. Allison
Sekuler and Canadian author and broadcaster, Jay
Ingram. Guests share their experiences and talk
about different risks linked to dementia.
Baycrest@Home hosts a webinar series, 'Caregiving
101' to help caregivers. Timely topics include
financial education, how to support 2SLGBTQ+
patients, planning for end of life, navigating family
dynamics, elder abuse. A library of more than 30
