31 BAYCREST | 2024 · Provide exceptional person-centred health care · Find innovative ways to provide healthcare · Partner with institutions that share our commitment to innovative care for older adults · Advance leading research, innovations, and better approaches to healthy aging OUR GOALS FOR BETTER AGING "At the time I was hired, 14 years ago, I knew that Baycrest was the organization where I wanted to develop my career. Not only it's renowned in older adult care but there are so many additional resources and benefits to working here. It is the people and the team I work with that make it worthwhile. Since working at Baycrest, I have accessed tuition reimbursement to help obtain my degree in health administration, utilized the leadership learning opportunities through the Organizational Effectiveness Department, and was also awarded a CABHI grant to fund research on oral care in long- term care (LTC), which has allowed me to work with the Baycrest Innovation Office. It is because of these opportunities I am in a new role with the Ontario Centres for Learning Research and Innovation in long-term care (CLRI). My new role helps LTC homes develop student placement programs. I am so thankful for the opportunities that are offered through Baycrest. When I first started working here, I was making a difference one-on-one with my patients and now I am leading the LTC sector, making positive changes to populations of older adults." - Nelly Villacorta, Regional Engagement Liaison "Since I began my journey at Baycrest nearly 26 years ago, I have felt very fortunate to get to know so many wonderful employees here. The people who work at Baycrest are kind, compassionate, and always looking out for one another, which has made this experience so enjoyable. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work as a part of inpatient units, outpatient units, and directly with Holocaust survivors. I love the work that I do, as it feels so meaningful to be able to help. I've also been lucky to have had frequent opportunities to learn throughout my time here, with webinars and education being offered, which only serves to strengthen the care that staff members are able to continue providing to the Baycrest community. I am truly grateful to be a part of this team." - Anne Max, Social Worker
