23 BAYCREST | 2024 VIRTUAL REALITY IS A DELIGHTFUL ESCAPE Through the magic of virtual reality, residents and patients travel to a new country, tour the neighbourhood where they grew up, visit museums and art galleries, or experience scuba diving. It reduces isolation and loneliness, stimulates the brain, and makes treatments more effective. It's a delightful escape at any age. BAYCREST@HOME BRINGS SUPPORTS TO AGING IN PLACE Baycrest@Home helps older adults live longer and with a better quality of life in the place they call home. Over the last several years, we have helped thousands of older adults, people with dementia and family caregivers from across the province and beyond, connecting them to expertise and services normally only found on a specialized clinical campus such as Baycrest. Our current suite of services focuses on issues related to social isolation, caregiver burnout and health system navigation. We collaborate with all parts of the Baycrest campus, and are in the midst of an exciting expansion into new areas of clinical support. Our clients include individuals and families, homecare agencies, retirement and Long-Term Care facilities, and Seniors Active Living Centres. The critical services we offer include: NEW OBIE PROJECTORS: MORE THAN JUST FUN Turns out video games are really useful.
