With the largest cohort of Holocaust survivors
in Canada located at Baycrest, our unique
photography exhibit, Precious Legacy:
A Celebration of Life, tells an important
story – not just of those who survived but
about Baycrest's unique capacity to offer
holistic support and create collective meaning
for those who engage with our programs and
services. In Precious Legacy, photographer
Elliot Sylman paid tribute to more than
200 remarkable individuals – all of whom
are Baycrest residents and/or program
participants – and their stories of resilience.
The first exhibit of its kind at Baycrest, it
draws on the experiences of these Holocaust
survivors, creating a significant and powerful
shared narrative. The stunningly beautiful
black-and-white photos were put on display in
the Ben and Hilda Katz building and the project
was featured in several media outlets.
The exhibition can be viewed in its entirety
online at www.baycrest.org/preciouslegacy.
