18 Rotman Research Institute 25 Years of Impact | 7/15/2014 The number of graduates enrolled in master's and/ or PhD studies was calculated for each of the five-year periods studied. Figure 17 displays the number of graduates enrolled since 1989. Figure 17. Enrollment of graduate students (master's and PhDs), n=129 The number of graduates enrolled in the RRI has grown since 1989 as shown in Figure 17. Approximately, 129 graduate students were enrolled over the past 25 years, and 94 (73%) of these graduates were enrolled in the last 10 years. It should be noted that the data from which these numbers where obtained contained inconsistencies in the dates of enrollment as well as in types of studies performed (master's/ PhD or both). Therefore, these numbers should be taken as a rough approximation. 2 . 2 I m pa c t o n s o c i e t y The RRI's research has been featured in Canada's major newspapers and magazines and on radio and television in featured interviews. 2 . 2 . 1 M e d i a c o v e r a g e Figure18 displays the number of times the RRI has been featured in the major Canadian newspapers and magazines. 2 7 26 46 48 0 10 20 30 40 50 60 1989-1993 1994-1998 1999-2003 2004-2008 2009-2013 Number of graduates Graduate students enrollment 102 100 46 41 40 22 5 0 20 40 60 80 100 120 The Globe and Mail Toronto Star National Post Canadian Jewish News The Medical Post Toronto Sun Mclean's Magazine Number of featured stories Number of featured stories in newspapers and magazines
