This year, twenty - four trainees received student fellowships, totaling $69,600, from t hese endowments including: Jack & Rita Catherall Travel Fund: John Anderson, Jessica Arsenault, Buddhika Bellana, Sarah Carpentier, Ayan Dey, Nick Diamond, Zainab Fatima, Stefanie Hutka, Joan Ngo, Cristina Saverino, Deborah Schwartz, Angelita Wong Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) Fellowship recipient: Melissa Hebscher Trainee Awards & Recognitions Trainee Profile : Baycrest is an academic health sciences centre fully affiliated with the University of Toronto. In 2014 - 2015, the Rotman Research Instit ute (RRI) had a complement of 22 scientists, 14 adjunct scientists, 1 scientific associat e, and 2 clinician associates, the majority of whom mentored trainees. Within this world - class academic environment, 11 6 trainees received training and mentorship in the past year. 33 Post - doctoral F ellows 44 Graduate Students 25 Summer Students 14 Undergraduate/ Co - op Students (continued) 1 Baycrest and the Rotman Research Institute (RRI) attract top talent from around the world. In 2014 - 2015, 32 Baycrest trainees were awarded scholarships, fellowships or awards in recognition of their academic and research excellence. National Fellowships Four trainees were awarded a total of $219,500 by national funding agencies to support their research endeavours. Th ese included prestigious fellowships from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (Dr. Emily Nalder), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (Melissa Hebscher), Heart & Stroke Foundation (Brandon Vasquez), Canadian Partnership in Stroke Recov ery (Dr. Emily Jack & Rita Catherall Travel Fund recipient: Ayan Dey
