14 RTC Annual Report 2014 - 2015 Research Training Partnerships 1 In the past year, the RTC forged new relationships with internal and external stakeholders to diversify its offerings, generate innovative educational experiences, and increase its impact on the trainee experience locally and internationally. Baycrest Ce ntre for Education and Knowledge Exchange in Aging & Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) Since 2012, the Baycrest Centre for Education and Knowledge Exchange in Aging has hosted approximately 20 medical and nursing students from Peking Union Medical Colle ge (PUMC) each summer. The PUMC students visit Baycrest for approximately four weeks to learn more about geriatric care, shadow Baycrest clinical staff, and understand the role of research in the geriatric context. Each year, the RTC has partnered with th e Centre for Education and Knowledge 2 Exchange in Aging to offer research - focused education including scientist lectures, technical research skill - building workshops (e.g., research statistics), professional skill - building workshops (e.g., interdisciplinary team building), and experiential research opportunities (e.g., touring research facilities, participating in research studies). Baycrest Centre for Learning, Research and Innovation in Long - Term Care In 2014, the RRI initiated a partnership with the Bay crest Centre for Learning, Research and Innovation in Long - Term Care (CLRI) to collaborate on educational offerings and events for the RRI summer students and CLRI summer interns.
