15 RTC Annual Report 2014 - 2015 Research Training Partnerships 3 As part of this collaboration, the RR I and CLRI: organized and co - hosted social events (e.g., trainee mixers, movie nights) co - hosted a summer trainee showcase day with trainee oral presentations opened lectures and seminars to trainees of both programs (e.g., RRI summer rounds, CLRI seminars ) provided expert guest speakers to each others' summer trainees Internship Partners In 2014 - 2015, the RTC launched a new internship program, aimed at exposing research trainees to diverse vocational domains, allowing them to reframe, adapt, and leverage t heir existing skills, expanding their network connections, and providing them with mentorship and substantive work experience. In 2015, Dr. Jason Brodeur, Manager of Maps, Data, GIS from McMaster University partnered with the RTC to offer a volunteer int ernship in research data management (RDM). The successful trainee is currently working on developing best practices for managing diverse types of neuroimaging data and developing a training program to teach RDM practices to research trainees. 4 At Baycrest, Shawn Kerr, Director of Stakeholder Relations & Special Projects, and Jordanne Holland, Project Manager, North West Toronto Health Link, have also partnered with the RTC to offer two internships in health policy and data analysis as well as health system e valuation. The Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI), an independent, not - for - profit organization that provides essential information on Canada's health system and the health of Canadians, has partnered with the RTC to offer a health research analyst internship to RRI trainees. The intern, to be identified in mid - late 2015, will be paid using Baycrest donor funds and will be using system - wide health data to understand and report on various health system issues.
