Trainees in the News…
1
In the past year, a number of current and
former trainees and their research have
been featured in a variety of public
forums, whether they be general media
publications or public lectures. These
opportunities give research trainees
practice in translating their science to a
broader audience and sharing the
relevance, importance, and impact of
their work with the community at large.
Trainees who have seen their work
disseminated into the wider public
domain include:
John Anderson (Grady/Hasher Labs) –
Reuters reported about his work
examining differences in cognitive
performance and brain response
among seniors depending on the time
of day.
Dr. Marc Berman (formerly
Paus/McIntosh Labs) – CBC The Nature
of Things featured his work exploring
the benefits of nature walks for
cognitive health and mood.

Dr. Gavin Bidelman (forme rly Alain Lab)
– The Washington Post and National Post
reported on his work examining the
protective effects of musical training in
early life on normal declines in speech
listening skills in later life.
Dr. Andrée - Ann Cyr (formerly Anderson
Lab) – The Daily Mail reported on her
work examining the potential benefits of
making mistakes during learning.
Dr. Carrie Esopenko (Levine Lab) – The
