acted as a guest speaker at the Ontario
Science Centre SciFri Youth Outreach and
ScienceRO CKS! events describing
research on music, the brain, and memory.
Dr. Daniela Palombo (formerly Levine Lab)
– The National Post , Maclean's , and NBC
News reported on her collaborative work
with a former Rotman trainee, Dr. Margaret
McKinnon, examining potential links
between memories of traumatic events and
post - traumatic stress disorder.

Dr. Valorie Salimpoor (McIntosh Lab) – A nu mber of publications reported on her work
investigating musical templates of the brain ( The Modern Ape ), why music can give you the
"chills" ( Time Magazine , Mindful Magazine , CBC Music ), and the relationship between
music and mood ( MTV News , DJ Broadcast ).
