Key service offerings have included research methodology education, study design, statistical analyses, results interpretation, and knowledge dissemination support via poster, presentation, and manuscript preparation. In the past year, KLAERU has provided statistic consulting support to the following research projects: clinical trial study led by Dr. Benoit Mulsant and his team from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). Dr. Mulsant's team aims to determine the benefits of combining cognitive April 1, 2014- March 31, 2015 ● KLAERU-PE Annual Report Page 7 KLAERU Business Development Activities Since 2013, KLAERU has become increasingly involved in business development opportunities at Baycrest. As primarily for-profit organizations recognize the need to test, demonstrate, and validate their products and services in real-world environments with geriatric populations of diverse medical KLAERU Project Intake status, a need has been identified for trial design and implementation expertise. Since 2014, KLAERU has worked with two for-profit companies in designing full business proposals detailing trial objectives, scope, design, operations, resources, and budget. An initial project planning meeting will be held to clarify the question of interest, the nature of the work required, and the support available through KLAERU. Based on this common understanding, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) will be drafted between KLAERU and the primary investigator, defining roles, responsibilities, milestones, and relevant costs. Once all parties approve the MOU, project work is initiated. The KLAERU team and research group meet weekly for 30 minutes to go over the project status and address ongoing study issues. Once project work is complete, the KLAERU team will close out the project with a final team meeting/de-briefing and transfer all relevant documents and deliverables to the clinical research team. A follow-up feedback survey about the KLAERU experience will help us grow and improve in ways most needed by Baycrest clinical researchers. KLAERU offerings.
