1 RTC Annual Report 2015 - 2016 Research Training Centre Highlights (2015 - 2016) The Rotman Research Institute Research Training Centre (RTC) at Baycrest is focused on fostering the next generation o f leaders and science ambassadors by: 1) providing world - class knowledge and training grounded in basic research; and 2) preparing trainees to excel in their chosen careers across diverse sectors such as academia, industry, not - for - profit, healthcare, and government. In 2015 - 2016, key strategic highlight s and accomplishments included: • 26 workshops delivered to 500 attendees • 28 academic rounds lectures delivered • development and delivery of the RTC's first conference – Innova tive Perspectives in Neuroscienc e (IPN) 2016 • 4 trainee internships developed and completed • 2 grants awarded from the Ontario Brain Institute and the University of Toronto School of Graduate Studies Graduate Professional Development program • new partnerships developed with MaRS Innovation, McMaster Univers ity, and the Canadian Institute for Health Information • new domains of professional development training including research leadership, research commercialization and entrepreneurship, and research project management RESEARCH TRAINING CENTRE ANNUAL REPORT 2015 - 2016
