9 RTC Annual Report 2015 - 2016 As part of its mandate, the RTC is focused on developing the methodological and technical skills of research trainees. RTC academic education workshops are meant to enhance existing skills and expose trainees to new methodologies to i ncrease their all - around scientific knowledge . These workshops also represent an opportunity for trainees to serve as instructors, developing their own teaching skills. In 2015 - 2016, the RTC greatly expanded their workshop offerings to a broader audience a cross the province. The RTC coordinated the delivery of 10 academic education workshops to an audience of approximately 260 attendees.
