I felt I was part of the team – Medical Student The ability to learn from healthcare team members and attend seminars showed excellent teaching. The educational sessions offered at Baycrest gave me a deeper understanding of what is best for my patient. Staff set a good example and have available resources (e.g. in services) helped in my learning at Baycrest – Nursing Student Working in an environment that is supportive of student needs, facilitates student excellence through the integration of knowledge into practice. At Baycrest, you see the strengthening of nursing practice in conformity with CNO Standards of Practice and RNAO Best Practice Guidelines. - Nursing Clinical Instructor A welcoming and friendly environment at Baycrest, all my interactions with staff were pleasant and supportive making it a good learning environment. The pharmacy staff was welcoming and never hesitated to provide help when needed. I felt like I was appreciated for the tasks required of me and as a team member. The interactions with the other students from other schools were an absolute joy as well. - Pharmacy Student Exposure to opportunities for group psychotherapy through day hospital; working with strong interprofessional teams; psychiatry teaching for Residents – Psychiatry Resident Understanding your purpose and at Baycrest, I found the key to teaching is by first teaching yourself. Once you have a thorough understanding, it can be used to create awareness among others. This is where excellence begins, when valuable knowledge begins to spread. –Research Student The ability to work with a team to serve patients in the community and to apply theory to practice, the weekly social work seminars and continuous encouragement to explore and learn about different departments. Baycrest truly supports student learning. I felt welcome to ask questions, observe other social workers in other departments, and learn.
