12 SAMUEL LUNENFELD MOUNTAINVIEW CLUB SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT AND STIMULATION The Samuel Lunenfeld Mountainview Club serves older adults with moderate to severe cognitive impairment in a secure environment. It provides specialized programs as well as environmental support to meet the individual needs of people with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) or frontal lobe disturbance. The FTD program includes behaviour management techniques and clinical rounds with a medical team. The program offers services and supports to provide stimulation and encourage social interaction. These include: • Escorted door-to-door transportation within a large catchment area • Hot kosher lunch and snacks • Physical, cultural and spiritual activities organized by Therapeutic Recreation team • Creative arts program for artistic expression • Counselling, support, case management and education for clients and their families provided by Social Workers • Health promotion, medication administration and disease prevention activities delivered by Nursing staff • Eating assistance and toileting provided by program aides • Access to Baycrest services including ambulatory clinics, and support programs • Respite for caregivers
