46 CAREERS Baycrest is the global leader in developing and providing innovations in aging and brain health. Located on a 23-acre campus in north Toronto, it attracts leading healthcare professionals and scientists who are keen to work in a unique and collaborative environment that encompasses innovative care, education and research in brain health and aging. The exemplary accomplishments and high standards at Baycrest have been recognized by Accreditation Canada and external review teams that have assessed the impact of the Rotman Research Institute (RRI) on brain and cognitive neurosciences. Our team provides client-focused care at a complex continuing care hospital, long-term care home, assisted living residence, clinics and adult day programs, as well as through programs that educate and train future staff and professionals in geriatric care. The RRI is making discoveries that are shaping neuroscience and "driving thought, concepts and research globally," according to the 2015 expert review team. "A differentiating and critical attribute of the RRI is the highly collaborative and collegial environment for faculty and trainees. The high degree of interaction and engagement between groups has resulted in important and exciting new research projects and programs." Baycrest spearheaded the creation of the Canadian Centre for Aging and Brain Health Innovation (CC-ABHI), a unique collaboration of health care, science, industry, not-for-profit and government partners whose aim is to help older adults age safely in the setting of their choice for as long as possible.
