THE SAM AND IDA ROSS
MEMORY CLINIC
Memory and other changes may occur as a result of
normal aging, or may be due to a number of different
medical or emotional problems. At the Sam and Ida Ross
Memory Clinic, the healthcare team will assess, diagnose
and provide intervention to help the individual and
caregiver(s) to best manage memory issues. Each patient
is seen by a team of specialists depending on individual
needs.
Patients are referred to the Memory Clinic due to:
• changes in memory
• problems with language
• changes in behaviour
Visits to the Sam and Ida Ross Memory Clinic, located
in the Kimel Family Building, include a series of
assessments and questionnaires so that a proper
diagnosis can be made and treatments can be
recommended.
Although there is no cure for dementia, there are
a number of medications that may help improve or
stabilize certain symptoms. Other therapies, such as day
programs, support groups and specialized interventions,
can help alleviate some of the symptoms as well, and
teach strategies for dealing with certain issues. Physician
referral forms can be faxed to: 416-785-2484
