DEMONSTRATED Program Efficacy The KL-CARE team found that caregivers had increased access to care, which enhanced their quality of life and their confidence in providing care to their loved ones. HIGHLIGHTED Shared Experiences KL-CARE reported that caregivers were able to share their experiences with each other, while individuals with dementia were able to socially engage with one another. ENHANCED Collaboration While working closely together with the social workers, KL-CARE developed evaluation surveys and validated the impact of the support groups. SCALED UP The Program KL-CARE's evaluation enabled Baycrest to increase the number of support groups offered; social workers and other disciplines could also receive training to help provide online support groups. CAREGIVER SUPPORT KL-CARE'S IMPACT Renee Climans, MSW, RSW Outpatient Clinics, Neuropsychology and Cognitive Health, Baycrest KL-CARE has helped us individually and collectively to think broadly about the importance of gathering data and performance indicators in our work with caregiver support programs, which has been especially important as the work we are developing is new to Baycrest.
