KL-CARE Annual Report 2016-2017 Page 6 ABOUT US KL-CARE recognizes that healthcare professionals and clinical researchers often face capacity challenges when attempting to balance their clinical responsibilities and access resources. The KL-CARE team provides expertise, services, and capacity that span the research spectrum to clinicians, researchers, and industry partners within and outside of Baycrest. OVERVIEW In 2016, the Kunin-Lunenfeld Applied & Evaluative Research Unit (KLAERU) and the Program Evaluation Unit (PEU) at Baycrest merged to form the new Kunin-Lunenfeld Centre for Applied Research & Evaluation (KL-CARE). KL-CARE is a support and services hub focused on working with healthcare professionals, researchers, students, and commercial partners to facilitate and support clinical, applied, and evaluative research at Baycrest. As well, KL-CARE supports the activities of the Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation (CABHI), a Baycrest-led, national centre focused on developing, testing, validating, and disseminating new solutions in aging and brain health. GOVERNANCE & STAFFING KL-CARE is overseen by the Research and Medical Services portfolios and is sponsored by both portfolio vice-presidents, respectively.
