Everyone thinks that love comes from the heart, but it truly
comes from the brain. Love is to be able to wholeheartedly
care for someone with no need for reciprocation. Love
knows no bounds. When you love someone it doesn't
matter who they are, what they are or what they believe in.
This brain is a statement; it is bold in its proclamation that
love is love. Through love comes passion and when faced
with passion you have the power to make a difference.
Poirier's mother was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's when she was 14.
Through the challenges of being a teenaged caregiver, Poirier has become a
champion for brain health. She has become a voice educating younger genera-
tions about Alzheimer's and the plight of young caregivers.
