# N O B L A N K B R A I N S 85 Mark Saunders was appointed Chief of the Toronto Police Service in 2015. During a career spanning more than 32 years, he gained extensive investigative experience in the Urban Street Gang Unit, Drug Squad, Community Safety Command and many other units. Chief Saunders collaborated with Zainab Alavi, Elisha Polwattage Peiris, and Jamilah Reeves—three Youth in Policing summer students—to create his brain sculpture and show awareness of what is truly within Toronto. The frontal lobe represents movement within Toronto, which was captured through the TTC subway line. The parietal lobe shows communities. The temporal lobe represents memories that are created through city attractions. The occipital lobe represents multiculturalism, and the cerebral cortex represents consciousness which is depicted through different mental health disorders. OUR TORONTO BY CHIEF OF POLICE MARK SAUNDERS IN COLLABORATION WITH: ZAINAB ALAVI, ELISHA POLWATTAGE PEIRIS, JAMILAH REEVES
