The TELUS Health Brain Project is important personally
because dementia and brain injury have affected some close
to me. This piece is about honouring memory—the penny itself
holds the memories of its holder as it journeys from hand to
hand, year to year. On a societal level, the interlocking penny
shows that no matter how small, every contribution counts and
when joined together, the impact is great. Politically, the penny
is a call for investment in healthcare, including brain health.
