Joe Carter is a beloved honorary Canadian who
helped the Toronto Blue Jays win World Series cham-
pionships in 1992 and 1993. This piece from the
baseball great, rendered by his niece Janna Carter,
is called Split Decision because the inspiration and
execution were decided in the spur of the moment.
Wrapped around the brain are two vibrant coloured
snakes, but their heads are not depicted. The empty
spaces are filled with a variety of flowers commonly found in nature.
