# N O B L A N K B R A I N S 55 Rick Hansen is a Canadian icon, a three-time Paralympic gold medallist, and best known as the "Man In Motion" for undertaking an epic two-year journey around the world in his wheelchair. He is the founder and CEO of The Rick Hansen Foundation, an organization committed to changing attitudes, creating accessible spaces and liberating the amazing potential of people with disabilities. Hansen is the recipient of many awards, including Companion of the Order Of Canada. Mixed media artist Shary Bartlett was honoured to interpret Hansen's vision and values for the TELUS Health Brain Project. As the daughter-in-law of someone with Alzheimer's disease, she found it deeply moving to work on this sculpture and marvel at how the brain harbours such intelligence, abilities and memories, and its profound impact on love and human experience.
