This first Goal is at the centre of our Strategic Plan. It expresses Baycrest's passionate commitment to excellent clinical care and to cultivating an environment in which people can reach their full potential. It is the combination of Baycrest's people, services, physical spaces, activities and community atmosphere that creates an exceptional experience for clients and families. This is the foundation of everything we do. Each resident or client finds fulfilment in their own way. Our purpose at Baycrest is to work in partnership with individuals and families to help them realize their personal goals and find meaning and joy, on their own terms. Our primary goal is for every client, resident, patient and caregiver to have this experience, whether they are an active client in one of our residences or community programs, or nearing the end of life. Every day we are reminded that it is the connection our staff have with clients and families that makes the experience at Baycrest second to none. A priority for our first Goal is to foster a supportive, rewarding and inspiring professional environment. Our investment in our people's learning and development has increased in recent years and we are committed to seeing it continue to grow in the years ahead. We will pursue three key objectives to achieve the first Goal. We are extremely grateful for the willingness of clients and families to share their personal experiences with us through Residents' and Family Councils, other engagement activities, and their personal correspondence. The following is part of a letter from a family member of a Terraces resident to Baycrest. "I thought I'd write you after recently visiting with my mom who has been a resident of the Terraces for over two years. I remain incredibly impressed. Your staff is tightly coordinated, consistently pleasant, and you maintain a positive atmosphere. You have successfully internalized medical and social support systems that enhance quality of life for the residents, and communication with family members is prompt and informative." GOAL 1: Provide an exceptional, person and family-centred residential and health care experience. OUR GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OBJECTIVES: 1. Partner with clients to implement evidence- informed best practices and advance a culture of service excellence throughout the organization. 2. Demonstrate the effectiveness of continuous quality improvement across all Baycrest programs by performance reporting at the point of service. 3. Create high performing teams by empowering our staff to engage in lifelong inquiry and learning. 7
