wearing an electronic band.
Remember:
• Any time you enter the code to deactivate a lock and escort a
client wearing a bracelet off of a unit, look around you and
make sure another unaccompanied client is not exiting with you
• Exit-seeking clients can fool us
• Don't be fooled, never leave them
• All clients must be signed off the floor and signed back on the
floor
• Alert staff
when leaving with clients and bringing them back to
the
unit
If you hear an alarm:
• Look for a client near any doors
• Call the Communications Desk at ext. 5555 or ask someone
else to do so
• Stay with the client until staff arrive
• Establish eye contact, speak in a soft voice and try to check
their name. Use helpful phrases like "Can I help you?" or "May I
walk with you?" If the client resists, keep the
client in view and
try
again
