Volunteers contribute to Baycrest's vision of purpose, inspiration and fulfilment 4 "I schmooze with whomever I meet and offer company to them. It is good for me and I think it's good for them. We discuss everything from garlic to grandchildren. It is stuff most of us have in common." Saul Krengel, Client Experience Survey "As a PLEASE volunteer, I bring purpose, inspiration, and fulfilment to the residents at Baycrest through my interactions with them. I visit and engage with residents of the Apotex Centre, Jewish Home for the Aged every week through a sing-along and have wonderful conversations with them. When I walk into the Apotex, I receive nothing but love. The PLEASE program has made my volunteer experience at Baycrest unforgettable." Jejociny Consalas, PLEASE "When they say youth and wisdom is wasted on the young, they're only half right. Golden age wisdom is not wasted on anyone of any age. I love volunteering at Baycrest where I can chat with the residents as they have so much wisdom to share." Ephraim Scheer, Program support Nancy & Barry Corey, Volunteer Office/ The Donald and Elaine Rafelman Creative Arts Studio Nancy: "Baycrest allows me to feel a sense of purpose in the community." Barry: "I like working with the residents and enjoy the response I receive in my ability to help them." "Individuals with dementia deserve the highest levels of care and appreciation. The outstanding volunteers and staff members at Baycrest with whom I have worked are highly devoted to this mission. I am fortunate to have spent nearly three years here and look forward to many more!" Jacob Fine, Youth Council "Volunteering changes people's lives! It personally taught me a lot about the world while allowing me to help those in our community." Alec Benavides, Youth Council "Volunteering is not just a pastime; you are doing something special for someone else, for yourself and future generations. As a volunteer, you will help build Baycrest." Adrienne Levinter, Tour guide/greeter
