KOSHER KITCHEN PROGRESS REPORT | 2023 7
The Work Continues
We have made many improvements but our work is ongoing and we are progressing
through other remaining necessary upgrades to keep our kitchen running smoothly.
For example, because our cook tanks/tumble chillers (both meat and dairy) are broken
and out of commission, the kitchen has been doing work-arounds that involve an extra 7.5
hours of staff labour/day; putting food into pans instead of bagging it as they would more
easily do with operational cook tanks.
Thanks to you, we are making plans to replace several large items soon, including these
cook tanks/tumble chillers. More funding is required to replace the enormous conveyor belt
dishwashing machine, which takes up an entire large room and frequently breaks down.
These installations will involve work on the surrounding infrastructure, including floors,
walls, and electrical and plumbing systems.
None of our kitchen improvements would be possible without you. We are extremely grateful!
Recognition
To express our profound appreciation, we are working on a donor wall to recognize your
wonderful contribution to the kitchen campaign. We look forward to the opportunity to
invite you into Baycrest for a l'chaim and to thank you in person.
All of us at Baycrest are grateful for your vision and commitment and for entrusting us to
strengthen the facility so that it can continue to serve our local and wider community for
many more decades.
Thank you!
