Baycrest becomes home to the Canadian Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation (CABHI) which helps older adults age safely where they choose and stay mentally and physically well. Neuroscientists identify the missing link between memory and eye movement, rewriting the decades- old explanations of the brain's connection to the eyes. It resulted in a new understanding of eye tracking tests that can detect dementia. Baycrest researcher develops the first group intervention to help patients who suffer from a rare language dementia and preserve their communication abilities longer. The Virtual Brain joins Europe's Human Brain Project, one of the largest neuroscience initiatives in Europe, helping researchers around the world develop better care for patients. Cogniciti, our "memory checkup" for the mind, is is a free, online assessment for anyone who's worried about their memory.
