17 Rotman Research Institute 25 Years of Impact | 7/15/2014 Figure 15.Postdoctoral trainees enrollment, n=171 The highest number of postdoctoral trainees enrolled in the RRI occurred in 1999-2003 and in 2009-2013, with 48 (28%) and 42 (25%) postdoctoral trainees respectively. The length of postdoctoral training at the RRI was also analyzed and is depicted in Figure 16. Figure 16. Length of postdoctoral training at the RRI, n= 137 From a group of 137 postdoctoral trainees that have records of start and end dates in the in- house RRI database, approximately 21% engaged in a two-year training, 36 % in a three-year training, and 30% in a four-year training. This data indicates that there is a tendency to engage in a three- to four-year postdoctoral training at the RRI. 2 . 1 . 1 0 . 2 G r a d u a t e s t u d e n t s ( m a st e r' s a n d P h D st u d e n t s) 15 31 48 35 42 0 10 20 30 40 50 60 1989-1993 1994-1998 1999-2003 2004-2008 2009-2013 Number of PDFs Postdoctoral trainees enrollment 4% 21% 36% 30% 7% 3% 0% 5% 10% 15% 20% 25% 30% 35% 40% One year Two years Three years Four years Five years Six years % of PDFs Length of PDF training
