3 RTC Annual Report 2014 - 2015 Trainee Awards & Recognitions 3 Finkler Graduate Student Fellowship: John Anderson, Deborah Schwartz & Brandon Vasquez Ydessa Hendeles Graduate Scholarship: Vanessa Pereira & Nasim Shams Men's Service Group Graduate Student Fellowship: Tarek Amer & Buddhika Bellana Mynne & Harold Soupcoff Fe llowship: Iva Brunec, Dr. Yi Du, Melissa Hebscher, Dr. Rosanna Olsen, Dhawal Selarka, Jordana Wynn Max & Ruth Wiseman Graduate Student Fellowship: Stefanie Hutka & Jessica Robin Ontario Research Coalition (ORC) The ORC is a coalition of seven research institutes and centres in Ontario focused on producing evidence that could help improve the quality of care provided to seniors in Ontario. Funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long - Term Care, the ORC provid es funding to early researchers. This year, five research trainees were awarded over $17,000 in support of their research including: Dr. Renee Biss, Dr. Maria D'Angelo, Dr. Ali Golestani, Dr. Emily Nalder, and Dr. Vessela Stamenova. 4 Ontario Graduate Schol arship (OGS) The OGS program is a merit based scholarship program jointly funded by the Province of Ontario and participating Ontario universities. The program encourages excellence in graduate studies at the master's and doctoral levels across all discipl ines of academic study. This past year, three research trainees were awarded OGS scholarships totaling $45,000 including: Nick Diamond, Stefanie Hutka, and Renante Rondina Other Trainee Recognitions Trainees were also recognized with a diverse range of awa rds from various external organizations including: Jessica Arsenault – University of Toronto School of Graduate Studies Conference Travel Grant Jessica Arsenault – Canadian Acoustical Association Alexander Graham Bell Student Prize in Speech Communication and Hearing Buddhika Bellana – University of Toronto Faculty of Arts & Sciences Travel Grant Mynne & Harold Soupcoff Fellowship recipient: Iva Brunec Mynne & Harold Soupcoff Fellowship recipient: Jordana Wy nn (continued)
