THE ELKIE ADLER MS CLINIC
Funded through a generous donation from the Kimel Family,
the Elkie Adler MS Clinic at Baycrest offers specialized
outpatient rehabilitation for adults living with Multiple
Sclerosis. Rehabilitation focuses on improving the clients'
functional abilities to allow them to live as independently as
possible.
The Elkie Adler MS Program is an innovative,
interprofessional program provided jointly by Baycrest and
the Assistive Technology Clinic (ATC) and offers medical and
rehabilitation management, as well as assistive technology
in the areas of mobility aids, communication, advanced
computer technology and environmental controls to improve
the quality of life of people suffering from MS.
The clinic is staffed by physicians, nurses, rehabilitation
personnel, social services and a technical team who provide
customized solutions for our patients to improve their
quality of life.
Innovative physio, occupational and speech therapy
programs are offered, along with specialty clinics for
swallowing and cognitive communication, gait labs,
wheelchair and mobility clinics, communication, and
environmental controls, neurology and spasticity
management clinics.
A doctor's referral is required. The clinic sees adult patients
aged 18 and older at any point of the continuum of care.
