10 Learn Basic Embroidery Stitches Date(s) Day Time Sessions Nov 14 Thurs 4 - 6 p.m. 6 weeks, flex to Dec 19 In this series, participants learn the basic principles of needle felting by first creating a sphere, which we will shape and decorate according to our own imaginations! This class is perfect for all new and aspiring embroiderers. You will learn all about stitches, hoops, floss, and fabric, so that you can design beautiful handmade pieces. Date(s) Day Time Sessions Sept 25 Wed 10 - 11 a.m. 10 weeks, fixed to Oct 30 Get acquainted with tapestry weaving technique. We will learn to 'dress' our small, portable tapestry looms; practice plain weave and stripes; and learn additional techniques to create freeform or planned designs. Participants will have the opportunity to take their projects home between sessions, and we will learn how to finish and hang our tapestry projects. An Introduction to Tapestry Weaving Date(s) Day Time Sessions Nov 29 Fri 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. 3 weeks, fixed to Dec 13 Learn how to make Cyanotypes and then tone them to create different colours as well as make multiple exposures. Members will experiment with exposing plants, objects as well as photographs. This class is great for beginners and also offers more to those who have made cyanotypes in the past. Advanced Cyanotype Date(s) Day Time Sessions Oct 22 Tues 1 - 4 p.m. 3 weeks, fixed to Nov 5 Printmaking - Relief Relief printing is one of printmaking's oldest techniques. In this class, you will learn how to transfer a drawing onto softcut linoleum, carve your design, and print an edition (multiple prints using the same block). Projects include making a small stamp, creating an edition of prints/cards, and printing a repeating pattern on textiles. Oct 14) Introductions to Needle Felting: Two-Dimensional Design Basics Introductions to Needle Felting: Three-Dimensional Design Basics Date(s) Day Time Sessions Sept 19 Thurs 4 - 6 p.m. 5 weeks, flex to Nov 7 (excl. Oct 3, 10, 17) In this series, participants will learn the basic principles of needle felting with wool, and will create a colourful and tactile two-dimensional composition.
